  The creature was a reptilian... of a sort; many of his features seemed more appropriate to that of most planets' mammals, including the short, feathery gray fur that grew off of the edges of his light-blue scales. A muzzled face led to a broader and slightly longer than human neck, and leathery-membrane wings sprouted from behind his shoulders, neatly folded against his back and against themselves. They were large, by all standards; the tips of the wings nearly brushed against the floor as he walked, and their elbows rose slightly above his head.
  
  Further down his form his reptilian tail peeked out from between his vest and trousers, tapering from its thicker base to the tip, all in all long enough for the last half meter to lightly rest on the ground behind him. The clothing was well-fitted, but by no means tight; a mechanic required range of motion, but couldn't afford to leave clothing dangling near moving parts on heavy machinery. Though the vest was short-sleeved the pants seemed one size too long; unlike a human, there was no danger of his pant leg slipping over his feet. One might even wonder how he even manage to put them on in the first place; his hind paws were large, with tri-clawed toes in the front of each and one extra on the heels in the style of his reptilian side, but thicker and padded to support the larger base required for a bipedal creature to stand upright.

• Setting and Species

  Morhe is a native of the desert planet Icartha, and lived the earlier part of his life there before signing on as a mechanic for a light freighter. Many of the details related to his anatomy and personality are closely related to his species' evolution on the harsh climate of this arid world.
  
  The wispy fur of his species are an adaptation that generates a natural sort of halo of shade over his scales, reflecting sunlight while having enough surface area to allow moving air to carry heat away from his body. On most planets, Icarthians cannot fly; their wings are adapted to the harsh winds and thermal updrafts of the desert, making them much too heavy to be used for anything but slowed decent on tamer planets.
  
  Due to the relatively low biodensity of the planet, Icarthians are shy by nature, preferring to avoid even small crowds and living proximity. At the same time, however, they have a tendency to "imprint" on exactly one other individual, becoming affectionate to them to the point of arguable obsession. Both of these instincts are rooted in their species' need to separate into single mated-pair groups in order to avoid competing with each other for food and water before the planet began to modernize. For this reason, they tend to be extremely shy, but fiercely loyal to whomever they call friend.
  
  Icarthian's claws, both fingers and toes, are small, black, hook-shaped nails that are generally kept filed round to avoid snagging on things, and are highly conductive towards electromagnetic energy. On their home planet, this allows them to use the friction of the dry, dusty air to generate current through their fur and expel it through their claws. Anywhere else, it simply allows them to feel electromagnetic current on their fingertips the same way most species can sense heat anywhere else.
